Blue Skys

Today was a glorious winters day.  The sky was an amazing blue colour and the sun was shining bright.  We made the most of it and went out for a lovely leisurely walk around Marwell Zoo.  (we are still making the most of our Annual Passes).

Today's weather made a refreshing change from the constant rain we have been having recently.  We have been lucky and escaped the flooding however, places in town and the surrounding villages haven't been quite so lucky.  Roads are still closed and the flood water is still rising in places.

To get to the zoo we had to travel across Salisbury plain.  We went through lots of flood water.  The sun was shining on all all the puddles, making it tricky to see in some places.  Luckily no houses seemed to have flooded on our route, just the roads and nearby fields.

We wrapped up warm and off we went animal spotting.  just look at the colour of the sky.  The trees looked beautiful against it.

The giraffes were creeping out of their house into the warmth of the sunshine.

I love the giraffes.  They are my favourite.  I could sit for hours just watching them gracefully moving their long legs and necks.  There were two not so small babies! A real treat.

We enjoyed hot chocolate. (Do you like Lottie's new hat?)

The tigers were strolling around their enclosure.  Coming up close to the fence and peering through.

The children enjoyed letting off steam on the playground.

Look at the Coati's. True tightrope walking experts!

Then on the way home, the sun was setting in front and the moon was already out behind.  We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful area.

Today we have thoroughly enjoyed the fresh air, blue sky and sunshine.  Tomorrow, we have more rain on the way.  Roll on Spring!
