Kingston Lacey

The sun shone brightly today! Yippee!

We packed up a picnic (the first of the year) and set off to Kingston Lacey.

Kingston Lacey is a country house and estate near Wimborne Minster, Dorset now owned by the National Trust. The last time we visited was about two years ago.

We went on a lovely long walk through the woods.  There were lots of opportunities for den building...

climbing...

swinging...

And signs of spring everywhere...

We spotted this wild rabbit hopping through the undergrowth. Lottie stood and watched it for ages before it hopped down its burrow.

Within the grounds, as well as a long woodland walk, we visited the kitchen garden peeping inside these cloches to see the rubarb growing. We walked through the house, enjoyed our picnic lunch and even had time for a quick game of cricket on the lawn!

Its been a day full of fresh air, signs of spring and the sun on our faces and legs (yes, Tom and Hubby even wore shorts for the first time today!)
