Happy Birthday Lottie

Yesterday, it was Lottie's 7th Birthday (and my Mums birthday too!)

We had an early wake up call from one very excited little girl.

We watched as she opened all her presents and cards.

She was so funny, she read every word on every card first then opened each present.  It took an hour!

Not because she had so many presents and cards, just the fact she took so long on each thing.

Lottie chose Pan Au Chocolate for breakfast and then we packed a picnic and set of to Monkey World.

Lottie had been last summer with school, but the day they went the weather was horrendous and it poured down all day, so we had said we would take her again on a nice weather day.

We had a fantastic day.  What an amazing place.  So many monkeys, all rescued and in such incredible enclosures.  They had so much space to move and roam. We spent all day there.

Lottie took her new camera (her birthday present from us) and enjoyed taking lots of photos of the monkeys (and the floor, walls, sky and her fingers) but that is the beauty of digital cameras!

I think I've mentioned before that I love Orangutans!  Well there were three huge groups at Monkey World and I wasn't disappointed.
.

We stood for ages giggling and watching the baby ones play rough and tumble. They were chasing each other around the equipment while the older ones sat and watched.

This one was sat making balls out of the mud.

They are just gorgeous.  They were definitely our favourite!

The Lemurs came up so close it was a little unnerving!  Tom backed off promptly as one started to follow him up the path.

The children enjoyed the play areas, where they became little monkeys!

We took the birthday cake, however we couldn't manage to light the candles.  Every time we lit one the breeze blew it out!

We ate some cake and sang Happy Birthday and then lit the candles and sang again when we got home!

Happy 7th Birthday Lottie
