Tonight we went to watch the fireworks.
The village puts on an amazing bonfire and firework night.
It was meant to be last Saturday night, but it was cancelled due to the stormy weather we had.
So tonight we stood in our wellies, with our winter coats on. Scarfs wrapped round and gloves on to warm our fingers. (Well 3 of us did! - hubby looked like it was the middle of summer in his little waterproof jacket!) He says it's cos he's a northerner and made of strong stuff!
Lottie's school had made a guy for the bonfire so there was great excitement as we stood and watched the lighting of the fire. A big cheer went up as the fire took hold. There is something mesmerising about watching a bonfire burn.
Then the firework show began. Half an hour of amazing fireworks. The sky was filled with loud explosions, colourful flashes and that wonderful firework smokey smell!
I love bonfire night and fireworks. Lots of faces peering up into the sky. Lots of loud oooohs and aaaahs! Heart stopping bangs and ear piercing shreiks! I love those fireworks that squeal and spiral twisting into the air then finishing with a golden fountain of light! Do you know the ones I mean?
Anyway, we had a great evening, finishing off with big mugs of hot chocolate and marshmallows! Yummy!
Our count down to Christmas has now begun!
